Online recruitment space has become more of a red ocean due to stagnant growth witnessed in recent times. Naukri feels it can buck the trend with something disruptive to improve its growth figures.
A few days ago Naukri.com, job portal owned by Info Edge introduced a special section for premium jobs (Premium Job Section) where jobs with above 15 lac annual pay packages will be made available. This is to filter out the jobs available for high experienced job seekers as they are not interested in low-paying jobs in comparison to their current employment.

According to Hitesh Oberoi, COO, Info Edge, “This specialised feature allows people with seven-eight years of work experience to find jobs besides offering them better hand holding. They can get closer to their ideal job easily and connect with top consultants and niche employers in their city with complete confidentiality.”
Premium job seekers with high past experience constitutes around 10% of Naukri’s total traffic. The premium section will cater to this segment and in a sense to high stake employers, contributing significantly to Naukri’s revenues.

It is worthwhile to mention a small startup named Workosaur has been doing commendable work in high paying jobs segment in India. It was launched a year ago and concentrated mainly on seven figures jobs. Naukri’s addition of this premium strategy will come as a credibility to this innovative startup.
Currently there are 3 important types of job seekers : freshers, mid-level and highly experienced ones. Info Edge already caters to freshers with FirstNaukri.com while filtering out 15 lac+ jobs will help it to service the high experienced job seekers. It also makes sense as Naukri can command better pricing for premium job listings.

Established Portals like naukri will always expand, innovate and find new ways to push the revenue to the target….
Nevertheless startup such as workosaur was the first to hit the niche market during recession and has grown mature enough to have its own set of traffic and user. In this case as a premium segment volume doesn’t play a role…its the quality which will drive the game.
High hopes. As long there is no personalized handshake
All these wld nt add to bottom line
Yes,The idea is nice and it may help the recruiters in some form,but overall i really do not thing this as a value addition to HR market, job sites need to address the core issues and not adding accessories only ..Another Job site coming up i do not understand their Business model http://www.Seeitbookit.com
@Workosaur is innovative cos it realized the importance of individual premium job site much before naukri.low volume is not a problem for portals as long as they are able to monetize their portals well through job postings.
@ravi
It will help Naukri in long-term as increase in recruitment portals and other siruptive things from likes of clickjobs can see
a decline in job posting rates or complete overhaul in business model.
@Alok
Filtering of jobs in my viewpoint addresses one of the concerns of HR market as it will help attract more qualified job seekers & in turn help recruiters.
Given Naukri’s cred with serious (read high paid) job seekers, I doubt if they’ll get any traction on this.
Launching this under a different domain and downplaying the naukri brand (on the front-end) would’ve been a much better choice in my opinion.

EYE Opener! Quite an innovative thought.. let me put in some analysis here. When i browsed through the site, i could hardly find about 6000 odd jobs in 15Lacs+ segment and if i take out the duplicates posted by various consultants, it would ball down to 4000 – 5000 jobs. I have actually expected good number of listings in that segment from a portal like naukri.
To my readings, Naukri has a user base of about 8 Million(Correct me if i am wrong) out of which 60% would be Fresher level (0-5Yrs) and balance 40% would cover above 6 Lacs bracket in which how many would actually fall under 15Lacs+ segment??
Of all, a person who is drawing a pay pack of 15 Lacs and above would have good amount contacts in the industry, why would one such come to a Job Board and apply? In such salary ranges most do not look a change so aptly unless something comes up really interesting.
Finally, do companies really share their Mid and Senior Level Job Listings to such job boards? If so why were they not till now?
hi, i want ot know about how this job company(naukri.com) work to bring so many job oppurtunity for individuals, such u huge database is maintained by this co.how they generate the revenue.. is the co. HR have a tie with their respective consultancy. pls clarify
