NBA Targets India With Online & Mobile Sites For Basketball
With cricket being at an all time high in India one may wonder if other sports stand a chance? Well most other sports have been poor cousins of the sport called cricket but in a country with a billion people one can find fans for everything right from hockey to F1 racing and tennis to table tennis. Well atleast thats what NBA i.e. the National Basketball Association thinks about India.
So all those hardcore NBA fans in India have something to cheer as the National Basketball Association (NBA) has launched its official online site www.nba.com/india, specially designed for its audience in India. And thats not all they have also come up with mobile site called m.nba.com/India designed for its fans in India. Given the 500 million plus mobile phones its quite a no brainer to have a mobile destination as well.
The website offers comprehensive fan experience including live games, video highlights, player blogs and original columns from two India based NBA journalists. What’s more they have also included some select hindi language content as well for further penetration into the Indian market. The website will feature live game broadcast every Thursday morning in India. The sites sites have been launched in partnership with local NBA marketing partners, HP and Reebok.
