Reliance Communications has reportedly been signed up to develop the m-governance infrastructure capabilities for governments of Mumbai, Maharashtra and Kerala.
RCom will provide the telecom infrastructure working in collaboration with the respective Government’s local VAS service partners. The m-governance initiative would aim at connecting various government departments in these three circles via the mobile platform.
The two VAS players who would be working with RCom on this project are said to beĀ IIST Infotech in Mumbai and MobeMe Wireless in Kerela.
M-Governance Projects On The Rise
M-Governance projects have been in the news lately with Spice digital bagging the project for Himachal Government. Even last year the Lok Sabha Secretariat had implemented m-governance by partnering with Value First. So the RCom deal doesn’t come as a surprise as various state governments are already looking at the m-governance route.
Why is m-governance BIG?
According to telecom tiger this project is BIG for reliance communications and the size could be pegged at close to 900 crores. It is further stated that RCom is also pitching for similar contracts in other states like Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka.

Its really great project.
As it’s involving much capital of RCOM and there partners.
I will be waiting to see its implementation as early as possible.
