On the digital frontier Hungama mobile shall enable Big Music’s catalogue across Telcos, internet, IPTV and mobile networks. The titles would be available across networks from 37 countries as well as the newly launched downloads portal Hungama.com. Hungama shall also leverage its  international partnerships with iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon MP3 and others to reach out to South asian communities outside the country.

Neeraj Roy, MD & CEO, Hungama Digital Media, Said, “As consumers warm up to new formats of entertainment, especially in the digital domain, the right time for the Indian music industry to build an eco-system that will work towards satiating all forms of consumer touch points. We hope that this alliance will be a precedent and will set the momentum for more such initiatives in the Indian music industry.”

Big Music’s catalogues boards of movies like Cash, Johnny Gaddar, Rock On, Luck By Chance as well as artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and popular singers such as A. R. Rahman, Adnan Sami, Alka Yagnik and more. We blogged how artists themselves are launching their own online presence with the launch of AR Rahman’s own store.

Furture Perfect Deal For Hungama

The release states that all future titles would also be distributed via hungama mobile for the digital distribution which makes this deal that much sweeter. Hungama has always been the pioneer in the music space in the digital world especially mobile. Such deals of collaboration with big music labels makes sure that their position is only strengthened in this market. Given the growing global demand for Indian entertainment one can only expect both revenues and markets to grow for this content. In short its surely going to be a money spinner.
