Google vs Newspapers
At the World Newspaper Congress in India it was Google vs Newspapers. Google senior vice president David Drummond was being targetted by participants at the World Newspaper Congress. Drummond stated that google had taken several steps which in the interest of the newspapers where as newspapers stated that Google cant link to them without their permission. More on this here.
Telenor starts services in India
Norway-based Telenor became the latest telecom operator in the soon to be crowded telecom market of India. The company had launched its services under the brand name Uninor as they have entered India as a joint venture with the Unitech group.
The initial launch would be across seven circles i.e. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, UP (East), UP (West) and Bihar.
MTNL Shortlists Virgin Mobile for 3G Franchise
Well Think hatke could soon be thinking 3G. We had reported on how MTNL was scouting for a 3G franchisee and now it seems it has shortlisted one player. Virgin Mobile which is the first MVNO in India could also be the first franchisee for 3G for MTNL. Being a youth brand 3G might actually work in favour of Virgin and garner users for its service.
Mauj ties up with Mobixell
Mauj Mobile has announced with mobile ad solutions provider Mobixell. This tie up is aimed at creating a package for managing operators’ advertising inventories for global and local brands in the region.
Mauj Mobile will use Mobixell’s advertising solutions, to insert ads in WAP, SMS, Ring-back-tone, missed-calls-alerts, in-game and in content as well.
Hungama ties up with Connect2media
Hungama Mobile announced a tie up with Connect2Media to bring mobile gaming titles to India. A total of 34 gaming titles would be introduced. Guitar Hero – World Tour and BMW Racing would be among the titles that would be introduced. The games would be available for download as well as on Tata Sky Actve Mall.
