No IMEI? – Your Mobile Phone Is Dead!
As per the telecom ministry orders, on Dec 1 all the mobile phones without IMEI number or clones IMEI numbers has stopped ringing. Around 25 million numbers are blocked. In Chhattisgarh alone, around 30000 mobile phones are blocked because of false or no IMEI numbers.
Indian government has given the orders to all mobile service providers to stop serving to subscribers using mobile without IMEI number from Dec 1. Mobile operators has inactivated the services from mid-night and those who failed to get genuine number till due day was running between different centers till late evening to reinstall the genuine number.
IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is a 15-digit unique code to every GSM and WCDMA and iDEN mobile phone, as well as satellite phones. It is printed inside the battery compartment of the mobile phone. IMEI number can also be displayed on the mobile phone screen by entering *#06# into the keypad. Whenever a subscriber makes a call, IMEI number will appear on operator’s network and in absence of this number it’s impossible to trace the caller or the phone or to access call details.
One of the service provider said that the (SIM) of the subscribers are not blocked and subscribers are still able to access the number by placing the SIM card into mobile phone having IMEI number.
As per Indian intelligence agencies – mobile phones without IMEI numbers are generally cheap and unbranded phones which have been used by militant groups on 26/11. In India, unbranded phone sales contribute 30% to the total sales of mobile phones.
The Indian Cellular Association has started a nationwide campaign to spread awareness about genuine mobile phones and prevent business of such devices. Such mobile phones are majorly sourced from china and causing threat to the country as well as huge losses to the Indian government.

i want know how to get the EMEI no. because i have heared that, the EMEI no has been provied by the Mobile retailers, is that sure or fack thing that they are giving , but i also notic that the mobiles are running by getting such type of EMEI no.

If you have invalid IMEI Number then visti any authorized GII service centres recognized by COAI & MSAI with with a valid identity proof, working handset and Rs. 199 as one time fee and get genuine IMEI for your handset.
