Want To Know The WAT Story? Read On..

Its been a few years now since I first coined the term WAT – (which stands for Web, Advertising & Technology). Though Ive spoken at a few events and moderated a dozen panel discussions there are still a lot of people who are very curious about WATMedia Pvt Ltd (The company that runs WATBlog) and its business model.

And rightly so.. Not many blogs in India are making it big till now. So when I was given the opportunity by Ecell NMIMS University Mumbai to speak to folks on What makes WAT tick I thought why not?

So Im speaking tomorrow on our business model and how we got to where we are, what are our learnings and where we want to be at an NMIMS event called -  “Business Modeling For BPlans”.

Its a free to attend event and all you need to do is register and land up tomorrow i.e. 2nd December at 5pm.

Details of event are below:

Date: December 02, 2009
Time: 5:00 P.M.
Venue: Room No. 707, UPG Building, School of Business Management, NMIMS University, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai-400056 (near Mithibai College)

Register Here

It will be nice to meet readers one on one and share my thoughts on how well or badly we’ve done in the last 3 years we have been around. To take face to face feedback. To bust some myths about How big or small we are and our revenues. Also hopefully my insights can help a few folks do better than Ive done till now :-)

I really like your blog. If you would remember, my first post was directed at your approach of reporting others ‘opinions’ rather than constructing your own (the Rupert story). Your comments followed by useless flaming.

The bottomline, I like your blog, and thats the reason I read it everyday. It’s much better than Alootechie. Alootechie almost looks stagnant as they have divided sections and many dont get updated as often giving the impression the site is not up to the mark. So full marks to you guys to keep to the traditional blog format.

BUT, you really need to learn to conduct yourself properly in comments and not get judgmental. You need to learn to accept your mistakes and not contest a lost cause. Flaming in the comments by the author or the staff is very unprofessional. We look up to the media, and expect them to be neutral to arguments, even when fingers point at them.

Thirdly, you needs copy editors, rather desperately need copy editors.

    All the best !!!

Rajiv, Please see if you can sum up the talk in a post after the event. It will be helpful to people who cannot be in Mumbai for the event.

    @Tarang
I would still go against your argument of copying others opinions.I report what I feel about the subject even if it goes against the thinking of other media channels.

If agreeing to some ideas is copying then so be it cos here @ WATBlog we want our readers to be aware about every worthy piece of opinion.

WATBlog published the rupert murdoch tussle post way before any Indian sites touched it,even foreign blog were not gung-ho on that news either.

We are always open to constructive argument :)
