After the American invasion of Iraq, there have been talks about the attacks on Baghdad being illegal. ‘The Independent’, UK revealed the discussion between the British and US officials two years before the invasion with an idea to remove their dictator. Then after Saddam Hussein was captured, the whole drama about his life sentence kept Iraq in the limelight for quite sometime. Here’s what they do from here. They choose the online medium to reach their people and others across the globe to make their point or rather “to present their message”.

iraqi invasion

The Iraqi Government announced their presence online and using technology, their National Center for Information created a YouTube Channel for the Iraqi Government. This channel will be used as new and advanced mode of communication. The Iraqi Government will be hereby committed to this technology to connect with various International communities and those who follow the issues of Iraq.

This being one of those developments Iraq has been witnessing today, will be used to communicate with people across the world. This will allow them to strike out all the misleading information being circulated against Iraq. The channel will also boast Iraq in terms of developments in areas like economy, politics and building a federal democratic system. The video technology will help them show their achievements in various walks of life since the times of their invasion. Sort of like, communicating with the world what they’ve been through in a crimson war of terror.

fall of saddam

In a nutshell, the country free from the Arab Socialist Ba’athist Party of Saddam Hussein, joins hands with the advanced technology of social networking to spread their word of democracy. The internet being an excellent source of information, and the development of social media has certainly revolutionised the way the it is being used. But the question that lies at the heart of all these developments, Where is the Indian Government?

India recognised as one of the most tech savvy nation citing many companies abroad finding the greatest of opportunities in India, then why not reach out to the world? I mean, how tough is it? Now Iraq, including the Pope, the Royal Family, and Queen Rania and presidents from the United States to France, South Korea to Estonia someway or the other, use the online medium since they find it useful to communicate with International communities. Don’t we? Well, Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor is on Twitter! Where are the rest?

2611 mumbai bled

The financial capital of India, Mumbai bled on this day last year, and the country will never forget that. Hoardings on railway stations and billboards stating people’s appeal to the politicians for justice and the required action against terrorism. An online platform for those who were affected in these terrorist attacks as a way to tribute them would have been appreciated.

The Iranian revolution saw the power of social media when Twitter enabled their people to speak their heart out. And so did the entire world. The middle-eastern countries being a victim of many such media blocks have found a new method. While WATBlog, remains proud of the internet being right at the top of chart in times of battle, because we feel sad that the Indian Government still has miles to go in terms of communication with its citizens on open platforms is concerned.

  1. Indian government is celebrating kasabs very first happy birthday in India.. its full one year and still he is alive, and I heard he put up 10 kg in weight, he must be happy for his activities..
    We want answers from government….

  2. Just b’cos the Indian Gov does not have a youtube channel does’nt mean we Indians are lagging behind in technology… We are the pioneers in many fields on technology.

Take the fact, we have all the recorded conversations between the perpetrators of 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. We have nailed the mastermind of this terror Attack, who is based in pakistan. We have accurate information about all the terrorist camps.

Our only fate is that due to international diplomatic pressure we have not yet attacked pakistan after 26/11, else we would have wiped out this nation from the world map!!! Pak should be thanking their allah for having the blessing of the US, else … they know very well.. they wud have been wiped out in no time…

And we have all this information at our disposal.. with the help of advanced technology. So then where does the question arise if we Indians are lagging behind ?

  3. @andrews – Im with you in sentiment but i guess the point is of communicating using technology which is surely lacking.

  4. Because our politician are corrupt they have no proud for nation but
    interested only to make money.

  5. Pioneers…. yeah right we sure are… along with having technologies we have people who are experts in playing the blame game… and some people within who wish to destroy this country.. what diplomatic stuff you talking about?? did that very thing stop George Bush from wiping Iraq.. Sending Saddam Hussein to the gallows? and what was the motive of him taking over Iraq “OIL WELLS” and it was done in the age old way of the kings who saw something they wanted to conquer. And we Indians are cultured people we always think that the Guests in our Country are next to GOD…. and see what the God did…. death, sadness, grief, desolation, and What feet we have covered by recording all the transactions that happened. The File named “Kasab” has gotten the red seal on it…. So dearo’s the asses who are sitting in the government seats will be able to solve it after they solve their own bickering and shortage of pocket money… So sit back and enjoy as much as you can of this life, cause i wish with my whole heart that 2012 does happen…. and not one person is left…..
