New Launches – EYantra Goes B2C With Foostor.com & Carazoo Launches Arababul.com In Turkey

eYantra the B2B players into merchandising and corporate gifting via the online medium which recently raised funding of  $3.1 million has ventured into the B2C business with launch of  Foostor.

Foostor is a shopping site that provides electronics, home appliances, mobiles, digital cameras and shall soon expand to more product categories. Currently the site is in beta and it looks like any other shopping site.

Phani N Raj, Managing Director, eYantra, had this to say on the launch “Moving to consumer business was an natural extension to eYantra. It gives us an opportunity to bring forward and leverage on our B2B partnerships with existing brands on to a B2C front with Foostor.”
EYantra has clocked a turnover of around Rs 35 Crores for FY 2009 from its B2B business and this initiative is important for them as it takes them into a newer space with even more potential that is still in a nascent stage. It will be a different challenge though as building lots of retail consumers online isn’t that simple but atleast they have the funds to back themselves.

The other existing web player who has launched an new initiative is car portal Carazoo which has ventured into a new market by launching Arababul.com which is a car portal targeted at Turkey.  Now one may question Turkey? Why? Well there is enough reason to target Turkey as its an upcoming internet market. Turkey had about 26 million active internet users in 2007 as per this report and by 2008 it had a buzzing startup scene as well.

This is quite a bold move by Carazoo whose parent company is  Logix Microsystems Ltd and its current portal claims 400,000 visitors and generates over 21,000 auto leads per month. Carazoo’s USP is its animated showcase of cars and virtual showroom for dealers. All in all this launch in a new country is their way of expanding beyond India which is already a cluttered market in the auto space with some players having sizable amount of funding.
