WebsiteForever To Host Websites For Airtel Users – Are You Game For It?
Airtel Broadband announced their new way of drawing internet users’ attention. They add another feature or rather say a new service to their kitty. This new service claims to be an affordable, easy-to-use solution to the hassle of building a new website. After they slashed down their tariff rates by 40 percent and giving freebies to their customer’s this move comparatively appears slightly daunting to me.

The service will now join Airtel’s already existing broadband VAS such as:-
- Speed On Demand
- Airtel PC Secure
- Airtel Net PC
- Digital TV Interactive
Individuals and businesses can ‘now’ have a web presence by building and maintaining the websites themselves with minimum time and effort, they say. I mean, this service will only benefit them who never gave website building a thought. WordPress, who call ‘Code’ a ‘Poetry’, in my opinion provides a better publishing platform especially for SMEs to publish their content on the web.
Airtel on the other hand has announced their tie-up with WebsiteForever.com to offer this service, who were started by parent company Akmin. HostMySite.com and Directi.com are some their clients, just for the records. Airtel Website Builder is one of those broadband VAS that will enhance their online presence by adding this enticing service which is consequently not as affordable as any other inexpensive hosting site.

Try the key words ‘cheap hosting’ on Google.com – the results vary but the first result I got was hosting for $4.95 a month which comes to around Rs. 228 per month much higher than Airtel Broadband’s cheapest hosting alternative! The categories for their designs are starting from wedding, religion and dating till real estate, education and telecom portals might be really helpful to new enterprise looking to build a strong website for their business. Even students can start their own website to establish their succeeding abilities, and of course if they weren’t aware of better options.
Coming back to this huge ‘launch’, WebsiteForever will enable subscribers to create their own websites on desktop and for the mobile browser as well. Customised website address will look like http://CompanyName.websitesforever.com, whereas there is also an option to register a domain name like http://www.CompanyName.com which apparently will cost more that the former version.
If providing domain names, besides hosting, uploading pictures, audio & video, was the most important thing required today, people would be eagerly waiting for it like they are for the 3G auction, if not for the real service. The professional business owners might not want to rely on this service, but small enterprises won’t mind Rs 250 per month to flag their line of work on the web. What’s your take on their new overhaul?

Hi Abhishek,
I don’t know about their broadband service, But let me tell you their telecom service is worst and i really mean it. I have been facing lots of network problem from past many months. Network drops anytime in amidst of your talks its really frustrating. The only reason i dint switch to another subscriber purely because of my contact no.
Airtel at present is worst telecom service provider in the market.
I don’t think airtel services i value for money. Unlike telecom where airtel has monopoly, hosting is a very big market and even smaller players can take on the biggest of the companies due to its virtual nature. The plans of Airtel are not really cheap and if someone does their research, they will know airtel may not be the right choice.
