Google hints at Penalizing Site Publishers for heavy Web pages

It seems webmasters will have one more weighted ranking factor to consider while optimizing the site for Google. Google has hinted that it would make site’s page size a major ranking factor somewhere in 2010.

Google currently has more than 200+ factors at play to judge ratings of Site & Links. This addition if implemented in future will see site owners pushing for lighter pages in order to avoid any ranking penalty. Although lowering of size page increases Ad revenues and page views.

Google has always been trying to make its search page lighter & faster now it seems Google is looking at other ways to improve users experience. Google at the same time could expect to see a little jump in revenues from Adsense as majority of publishers use its Ad network and lowering page will increase the CTR’s of Ads.

The other features includes addition of high quality along with better synchronized sound quality.Yahoo is definitely trying hard to make its users more stickier to its services by allowing access to plethora of social services.
