1. Twitter – Linkedin goes in for cross-posting partnership

It seems every Social networking site wants to connect to Twitter. After Facebook (Twitter support for pages), Myspace now its turn of LinkedIn to link with Twitter. LinkedIn Users would be able to automatically post their status updates from LinkedIn to Twitter and vice versa. Twitter users will also be allowed to customize the way certain tweets are shared from their Twitter accounts by using  hash tag such as #li or #in. So much that the word ‘LinkedIn’ was a one of the top trending topics on Twitter yesterday.

Allen Blue, LinkedIn’s co-founder and VP of product strategy, explains the partnership:  “The idea is simple: When you set your status on LinkedIn you can now tweet it as well, amplifying it to your followers and real-time search services like Twitter Search and Bing. And when you tweet, you can send that message to your LinkedIn connections as well, from any Twitter service or tool.”

2. Yahoo to concentrate more on emerging nations to boost margins

Yahoo in a clear indication has announced its intention to focus more on emerging nations like India where Internet population is at nascent stage. It is also looking at tripling its margins from current 6 per cent to 18 per cent in few years.

It seems after forfeiting its right on search, Yahoo now sees Asian and Latin markets as major growth drivers and desperately wants new internet population in those markets to embrace its services. Yahoo would thus go for more partnerships and R & D innovation in these markets as its current services aren’t enough to attract new users.

3. Rupert Murdoch to remove its News Site’s from Google?

WATBlog has earlier covered the ongoing tussle between Google and traditional media publishers. We also suggested that Media publishers are just making unjust demands at a time when Google sends them traffic exposing their brands to unknown visitors.

Rupert Murdoch in an interview announced that it is thinking of taking out all News sites like: The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, The Times of London and many more from Google’s search engine.Even so when Google and its news provides 25% of WSJ.com’s traffic and amongst it 44% are new users on site.

Murdoch needs to understand that Google indeed may be making billions from searches but sends precious traffic to sites. Online publishers are seeing a decline in revenues due to lack of better monetization strategies adopted on their side. If tomorrow, facebook or Twitter earns money on pages showing news backlinks would it take it down there too??
