Indian Army Nails The Internet, While Websites Become Mandatory For Educational Institutions
It all started with things appearing at lightning fast speed and then it helped rumors to broadcast from one end of the world to another. Now, advances in computer technology and the internet have changed the way people work, learn, and communicate. The Internet has become an integral part of almost everyone’s economic, political, and social life. The Internet is just a world passing around notes in a classroom – Jon Stewart.

For me soldiers always come first, so to start with the recent advancement in the cyberspace lets talk about where the Indian Army is headed. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) have recently launched a web portal for the Indian Army called indianarmy.nic.in.
The main purpose to start this for various options like search, user interactivity, latest events, feedback, secured login, decentralized data update, space for all the arms/services of the Indian Army, etc. We get to know about the latest weapons with the Indian Army and their strengths at the Republic Day parade.
This site also highlights the history, and other activities taking place involving the army. In my opinion this is a great start to get with a cool camouflaged background for their webpage and various adventure-based activities that a soldier does.

The web portal will also help recruitment in the defence forces of India. Interested candidates can download an application form on the site itself which will help them get through the Gentlemen’s squad. The site also has a photo and a video gallery where one can enquire about the Right to Information Act and its application.
A citizen can now pay homage to the true heroes and martyrs of the country using this interactive tool among all the corporate sellouts and gossip mongers across the internet.
Whereas the US army’s official site is far superior when it comes to using technology effectively to reach the masses by including news stories and regular updates pertaining to the country’s army. A website usually adds content including most of the details and information that needs to be shared with the civilians. Although this can act the other way round as the world has access to the internet, too many vicious mortals may manipulate the information on innocent portals.

The Government of India on the other hand has proposed to all the educational institutions in the country to have a website mandatorily. Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal said, “That is going to be part of the law, and we are going to take away their recognition if they violate this. India is not going to give up its opposition to for-profit educational institutions as any collapse of such entities would impact students. Each child will be given a unique identification number, which we will use to determine if he or she has dropped out or not.” So are website developers going to pounce on this massive opportunity?
Well, this will strengthen the outbreak of internet in many areas who are still finding a solid reason to subscribe for it. Even kids can make use of this healthy source of information to overcome the demons of being bullied at the school. So finally Nandan Nilekani should be proud about his concept being delivered in the minds of people who now think this will be a useful initiative by the government to simplify their lives. While he recently shifted his focus from technology to politics, critics are questioning various aspects of the ID project, including its cost, its technological feasibility and the security of identity records stored in the government’s central database.

I have one serious doubt. While all this is romantically attractive and engaging, how do you ensure that all these authentic info do not fall in to wrong and anti-nationalistic elements , who seem to be spreading their Net day by day >
What are the safety checks in this? I am deeply concerned about that first and foremost .
Please respond . Thank you !

Having a website is truly effective for an educational institute, but a blog is also another option.
