I am currently using orkut and facebook i always choose orkut as my regular usage..

Just to get a few misconceptions right the largest orkut user base is in Brazil & not in India. (49.83% of Orkut’s users are from Brazil, followed by India with 17.51% *source wikipedia). Orkut has a massive advantage of being a early market entrant in India, its already 3 to 4 times the size of facebook in India (sure FB is fast growing). Considering its a google property (the mothership of innovation) & with infusion of new features it will be a very interesting battle to come.
P.S. eradication never happens online. Its the only place on earth where almost everything lives forever

Well google orkut is trying to compete with facebook and twitter but i dont think they will ever be, as orkut is slowly but surely eradicating from India as well(largest orkut user base). people are more familiar and involve in twitter @ facebook these days.

i quite like their idea of creating a group of active users before handing out invites. beats facebook’s ‘let’s just make the changes and then deal with backlash’ strategy.
