Google Chrome Targets Indian Users Via Facebook

I have always believed the Google Chrome browser to be the future of Google’s web services package. The future of computing is not in the OS; rather it’s in the browser. And Google has been doing whatever it can to find a strong foothold for Chrome in the internet users around the world.

This would mean targeting two different sets of people. Foremost, loyal IE/Firefox users who wouldn’t want to change their browser because the current one offers everything they want. Secondly, new users on the internet who don’t even know what a browser is.

Google has already dabbled in print and TV ads for Google chrome. It has also successfully used YouTube video ads and Google Adwords. And now it looks as if it’s going into Facebook advertising. A lot of blogs have recently picked up the story and screenshots of these Facebook ads running for Indian users.

You can check out a screenshot below:

The ad claims that it is the fastest growing web browser in India. Though there have been no official stats to prove this statement, I like the initiative. Facebook has been a fast growing social network in India, and finding new users from their makes sense. Especially with the targeted ad planning that the social network offers.

Personally, I am a huge fan of the Chrome browser and would like to see the common man adapting to it. Also its a stamp of approval for Facebook ads as now even google seems to be using them!

A Chrome fanboy wants all to become Chromated…Just bcoz he adores Chrome, he wants everyone to use this slimware.

Although i admit it is fast, in everything
4 major versions in a year…at this speed, only Google Chrome 25.0 would be able to outpace Firefox…

I think IE or Chrome both are not good enough to compete with The Firefox browser.

    Well…fanboism is a bad thing:)….

We’ve seen Windows, Mac and Linux fanboism..not to mention the thousands of rants/praises which can be seen at the forums where people fight it out for “which browser is best”

But Chrome’s ad that it is the fastest growing browser in India without actual statistics seem to be ridiculous!
