Tie-up – HT Asks Laila, “Let’s Co-Brand!”
AskLaila one of India’s local information search engine ties up with HindustanTimes.com to enhance their reach to more audience. The tie-up is to form a co-branded city information microsite which will enable users to search for local services and event information across 12 Indian cities. This page also has an option that takes you directly to HT’s homepage, while he/she can also set HT as his homepage by just clicking on the tab on the top left hand corner.

AskLaila’s previous affiliation with HindustanTimes for the HT City’ supplement in New Delhi, extends their relationship further. HT City’ supplement publishes AskLaila syndicated content on their online portal.
Already available features on AskLaila –
- Proximity search – Results include not only the searched-for locality but also the locality nearby
- Syntax-free search option – ‘Haircut Lajpat Nagar’ and ‘Lajpat Nagar Haircut’ will give the same results
- Support for uniquely Indian lexicon (ex. CCD – Café Coffee Day)
- Allows attribute – tagged search like ‘24 hours pharmacy’, ‘Roof top restaurant’
Who’s acquiring or rather say sharing who’s comparative larger audience, is difficult to say at this moment. But, an opinion will definitely be appreciated. The tie-ups we’ve seen so far at WATBlog have either a give and take affiliation or there is something which works both ways.
