Is Yahoo Testing Meme On Yahoo Mail?
A few days back, we had written about how Yahoo’s upcoming product Meme can fight Twitter. One of the ways we had suggested was to integrate Yahoo meme with the existing Yahoo properties like mail, messenger, etc.
Yahoo Meme’s homepage still reads ‘Coming Soon’. But looks like a lot of background activity is already happening. Apparently, Yahoo is testing the meme feature integration on Yahoo mail. This testing is currently visible on the Yahoo India mail boxes. A Yahoo.com mail I tried with did not have the feature.

But, nothing on Yahoo.com mail..
The new ‘updates’ box is asking me “What are you doing right now?”. However, you do not get to receive updates from other friends on your contacts list rightaway. Users have to choose whom to receive contacts from and only after approval from other side do you get to see their updates. A nice nifty feature to get people get social from the mailbox. Remember, Yahoo had talked about making Email social sometime back!
So answering the question that we had posed in the previous post on this topic. Does Yahoo have a war plan? Apparently, yes!
