Social Media the buzz word of today is everywhere. Celebrities and brands alike are hoping onto the social media bandwagon in India. We have blogged about this before. But even though some brands may complain that Social media is a bitching platform where brands are pulled down by consumers and there have been many well publicized cases of the same as well recently.
What is then surprising to is that a survey by emarketer states that more good is being said about a brand than bad.. Check the chart below:
Although the above chart showcases a US market scenario its still an insight given the penetration of social media in that market. One has to also keep in mind though that social media marketing is quite evolved in the US compared to that in India. India has its bunch of brand rating and review sites in mouthshut and brandadda and also has seen the rise of twitter lately with a lot of brands and brand related conversations increasing.
I feel the above statistic should if at all give another reason to marketers to explore the digital media via social media and see how far they can promote their brand. Whats your take?
