TieUps Update: Dish TV – Yatra to launch ‘Travel Active’, ValueNotes – SMC Research Ink Distribution Deal
Dish Tv has announced their partnership with Yatra.com to launch a new interactive service on its DTH platform. The service would be named ‘Travel Active’ and would help subscribers in searching and booking holiday packages, hotels, international and domestic airline tickets. This tie up comes after the recent annoucement of Makemytrip announcing its partnership with Airtel DTH.
This seems to be good monetization strategy from Dish Tv’s fold as through such partnership deals they are bringing online and less accessible services at subscribers fingertip. Yatra would be the major beneficiary as it would be selling the holiday packages and airline tickets through DTH platform which may also increase awareness about its portal amongst DTH households. We have stated earlier of how DTH distribution is becoming more and more important for online players and we covered how the matrimony guys were at war with each other by tying up with competing DTH services and recently jobs players too jumped onto the DTH bandwagon. This tie up now also brings travel segment into the DTH fold.
The benefits for DTH player are not known from such deals but it would certainly be based on a percentage of total sale generated or on the basis of leads procured from DTH subscribers. DTH operators despite loosing money from their core services are making up for it through introduction of various value added services in recent past.
ValueNotes.com inks deal with SMC Research
Indian portals seems to be losing no opportunity to derive benefits even from offline products.In an evident Valuenotes has inked a distribution deal with SMS Research, R&D wing of brokerage Group, to sell commodities based SMS Pack Services on its sites.
Valuenotes earlier inked a similar distribution deal with Dalal Street Investment Journal to market their equity advisory offering. Although this deal is to distribute only commodities pack for valunotes users.The subscription pack would start from Rs 2199 per month.

This type of deal are largely affiliate based where the portal gets commission on the amount of sales penned out and Valuenotes at current has numerous such tie-ups. Commodity trading is still a very nascent market in India and as such do not counts large investing audience in general.
