Tata’s Photon Plus Aims At Going Places – Where Will It Land?

Tata Indicom‘s Photon Plus are aiming big this year with their broadband offerings across the country. Claiming to have currently 40,000 broadband connections so far, Tata aspires to add more 50,000 broadband wireless connections. Tata Teleservices launched CDMA services last november in Assam with an initial investment of Rs. 100 crore and WATBlog was right at it. Tata Teleservices also invested over Rs.100 crore  in the Assam circle, establishing a pan-India network with 20 circles to expand their national presence.

The Photon Plus service claims to be 20 time faster than the existing wireless data card connections, and approximately 10 times than the availability of average broadband connection speed in the country. The service is said to be offering a speed of 3.1 mbps and many other wireless internet operators have already started to match its speed.

At present, the facility is available in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam in the state. The company plans to extend this facilities to cities like Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Warangal, Tirupati and a few other places in a phased manner. With the advent of Netbooks wireless broadband seems to be growing day by day. Also the mobile nature of a data card vs a fixed connection makes it a preferred option in a country like India. We feel that provided the prices of the photon and other such products comes down from what it is now internet penetration could grow riding on this wave of demand on wireless broadband services.

“What’s in it for ‘YOU’?” seems to be a direct copy paste from tataindicom site and this post appears to be a mouthpiece for tata. Come on folks, we look forward to insights and analysis from you and not this kind of advertisements.

@all – This certainly wasnt a sponsored post but more like a hurriedly wrapped up one. Abhishek wanted to add more details but was in a hurry to leave for some important assignment. Hopefully his next few posts should make up for the lack of in this one.

@all – Based on your feedback we have edited the post and add our view and analysis in trademark style. Hope you wont be disappointed anymore and we apologize for this slip up from our end.

@all > The answer to all your grievances lies in the title itself…(Especially, the hyphen followed by some text makes it clear and obvious.. for few who didnt catch the slip!)

Tata’s Photon Plus Aims At Going Places – Where Will It Land?

let them promise floral features…. that remains to be watched… as soon as the product reaches the masses.. we’ll have a launch post (like this one) to contradict if anything goes haywire!

It’s tough for this post to look like an advertisement unless the title is being absorbed not as required…
Tata Photon Plus ..or whatever the dongle is called..
WATBlog will never turn be someone’s mouthpiece.. It’s a promise!!

    Cheers
