Then:

What does it signify for its future?

The Home page modification in our view is just the beginning of a series of revamp measures to be taken by Twitter management in order to make it more mass-appealing.

The evolution of larger search focus on site also goes on to show the management’s perception which conveys that they are viewing their information data as future currency to success. Twitter would certainly see an increase in search queries as well as gain reputation to become a true discovery engine. This may also give rise to search expectation with other online giants as largely seen in the past.

The small changes in terms of sign-up button and regrouping of login form also shows Twitter’s aspiration to monetize the media wave by new sign-ups as and when the users come to the site even due to their anxiety. The makeover is also a preceding move before full blown monetization practice kicks in.

The revamp is certainly good and reiterate management’s experiment to introduce new features and services at the same time makes it a people’s site rather than a geeky social blunder.
