President Of India To Use Cyberspace To Reach Out To The Citizens

The President of India, who is an executive head of the country has the power to ‘reign and not rule’ similar to those of the British Crown. Smt. Pratibha Patil inaugurated the Rashtrapati Bhavan Helpline Portal at Rashtrapati Bhavan recently. If you are an Indian Citizen residing within the Country, this portal is meant for you. At WATBlog, we indirectly reminded the politicians to make their online presence look more advanced after they started the so-called “citizen-friendly ” portals almost a week ago. Not just that, we also accounted the different politicians and celebrities using internet as a mode of communication. And, why not? We’ve got the stats in place as well.

The ancient land of India portrays a landscape of vivacious cultural heritage, diversity and spirituality. There’s a wonderful website formed only for the true worshipers of Indian Government, that takes you for a euphoric journey of India. And, there’s nothing to be ironic in it. WATBlog prevents caustic remarks when it comes to India’s step towards advanced technologies.

The President of India – Helpline Portal

Following are the highlights of the Helpline Portal:

  • Lodging of request/grievance by clicking “Lodge a Request/Grievance” from any place any time (24X7) basis.
  • Generation of Unique Registration Number (URN) for every request/grievance.
  • Citizen can track the status of their request/grievance real time online.

  • Acknowledgment by e-mail, if provided.
  • Instant and easy communication between nodal Public Grievance officers of Government Organizations.
  • Integration with Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS).
  • Automatic Online Data transmission between Ministries/Department/Organization and the subordinate organizations.
  • Constant update on the status of request/grievance received and acted upon by the President’s Secretariat.

With the assurance to process petitions and direct them to relevant departments within seven working days, citizens will also be able to track them to various ministries as well.

Rashtrapati Bhavan Helpline Portal has some special features such as:

  • Enables lodging of lengthy e-petitions.
  • Enables supplementary attachment of scanned documents.
  • Additional mode of acknowledgement through e-mails.
  • On submission of registration form, petitioner gets a Unique Registration Number (URN).

The portal is currently available in English but will gradually be available in other Indian languages as well. Hence, reaching out to the President has now become easier, but its effectiveness remains to be seen. Her Excellency President Patil would like to modernize everything possible, from infrastructure to the style of working. Whereas seventy per cent of the applications that the President’s Office receives are though ordinary post while and the rest come in electronically. Is she on Twitter?

Dear Author, I am really happy to see that such a help line is provided to the citizens. In fact now with the changes in communication such as internate we can solve our problems. This will be a great help to the citizens of India.many times it happens that u have so many problems. U r a creative man but ur energy is wated in worrying the problems faced by u individiually. But when u wish to raise the issues u dont find time. Typically if u ask me a man in Maharashtara can not visit Mantralaya before 2 pm and that too with a wait of que not less than a hour. Therefore, internate is best way we can progress and we can solve our problems. Only thing is that the communication must be acted upon. I sinceeely hope that our repspected President would ensur the same and in this direction I will be submitting my grievences shortly. Regards V.K.Wasnik.
