At WATBlog, we’ve covered Myntra before. Myntra.com is an online marketplace for on-demand consumer products stuff like T-Shirts, Mugs, Calendars, Keychains, Diaries etc where you can publish you own design on the product and then buy it. They have various customization tools which enable the user to create and customize his own design.
Now, Myntra has gone one step further with PrintOn, one more level of customisation which it offers its customers. Commenting on the launch of Myntra PrintON, Mr. Mukesh Bansal – CEO, Myntra Designs Pvt. Ltd. said “Innovation leading to customer delight is one of the tenets of Myntra’s mission of being the most preferred personalization brand in the country. The launch of PrintON is a major step towards this goal as it takes printing beyond paper and makes printing possible on various surfaces. PrintON takes the concept of personalization to a whole new level where consumers can not only choose the content they want to print but also the surface on which they would like to print.” Myntra PrintON offers printing on 3 options of canvas along with glass, wood and marble.
Being an internet-company has not affected Myntra’s options. It’s one of the few pioneers in the field. Myntra’s core focus so far has been on printing. Myntra often ties up with other brands and companies for personalised printing of their t-shirts and other accessories (as it did with WATBlog too).
Myntra allows people to showcase their designs on its site as well, but any other plans of expansion? Will Myntra venture offline and try and setup shop? Internet shopping, though increasing in popularity does not come close to the local markets in India. There are several small personalised gift shoppes present at malls and other popular hangout locations across India. When people think of shopping, they really don’t conceive logging on the Internet, but will that change in the future? Hopefully, India will have as budding an e-commerce industry as the West in a few years.
