Gmail Introduces Drag n Drop Mail Feature
Today after coming to office, I opened my gmail account first and got a new window informing me about new drag and drop feature of gmail labels. Using the new features, I managed to add labels, manage them and organise my inbox easily and effectively.

Gmail is constantly adding new features to its product to maintain user retention and increase the list of subscribers. Now, lets have a quick look of new added features:
- Location: Labels appear on Left navigation just above the chat list, accompanied with Inbox, Drafts, Chats and other system labels.
- Hide & Show: You can hide or show the labels as per your wish and have full control over labels and their presentation. Most commonly used labels are automatically shown although you can hide them too. Labels can also be deleted from here by clicking the down-arrow to the left of that label.
- Drag and Drop: This is most innovative and interesting feature added in gmail. No need to check the mail and move to folder, just drag n drop the mails onto the labels. Dragging labels into the “more” menu to hide them and vice versa can also be done. You can also change labels through Settings function. Now, the people who complain about Gmail not having drag and drop like Outlook can be happy.
This change means END OF Right-side Labels which was an experimental Gmail Labs feature. However, this is the first Labs feature that Google is retiring from its basket. Removing Right side labels indicates gmail users that don’t rely too much on Labs feature, because Google can take them away at any time.
