Business Standard Aligns Towards Online Space, Revamps BSMotoring.com

Business Standard, a reputed business daily has revamped its online property BSMotoring.com in what is seen as a remarkable change and clear alignment towards Online business. BSMotoring is almost 10 years old but was only seen as a supplement for its automobile magazine.

Now the site has been revamped to spread its wings as an independent and capable property. The new site would also help carve an Independent Image than just an automobile magazine site and also to provide One stop solution for automobile related features in future.

The site would now be serving exclusive news and videos content apart from the magazine related contents.Videos would be related to test drives and the launch of new vehicles through exclusive sourcing.

Bijoy Kumar Y, founder editor, BS Motoring commented,” Though the site has been around for a while, we have not been able to allot the kind of attention it deserved and hence this re-launch. We have conceived the new website as a separate identity and would love to do things with it that we cannot or will not with the print magazine.”

As can be seen from below Graph the site has hardly seen much spike in traffic despite the revamp.

Afaqs reported that the revamped site has already started working at many monetization strategies such as video advertising, content sponsorships and is also a part of Nokia’s social media endeavor. Although monetizing heavily at the time when the site has just revamped may back-fire. The user registration is also at lengthy inquiring about several questions like income and even mobile number.

The site apart from its comparison feature could have also provided a marketplace for used vehicles and a much needed forum.It also faces competition from sites like Carazoo and other auto related sites as these sites foray into news and other UGC but the synergy between offline and online space may come as a boon to the portal.
