Headstart one of the major startup events in the country is back as announced by us before. The second edition this year, Headstart Summer 2009 will take place on 20th June 2009 at Welingkar Institute of Management, Matunga, Mumbai and would be focused specifically on angel investing. According to HeadStart, their research on 100+ startups confirm that there is a strong need of angel/seed stage investment in India and hence the primary agenda is on seed stage.
They have shortlisted 16 startups for the finals who will present their demo at the event. They are:

- Design Chords: Crowdsourcing based design platform

- Informate Mobile Intelligence: Mobile consumer usage intelligence software
- Lattice Purple Technologies:YouSuggest – Online platform for businesses to engage with users
- MoneyVIdya.com: Indian Stock picking community
- Orangut: Engineering Learning Management System
- PerSquareFeet: One-stop shop for all real-estate problems
- SPOXCHANGE: Global sports-based exchange
- Swan Suites: Branded boutique service apartments
- ThinkingSpace Technologies Pvt. Ltd: Eventshelf – Event information aggregator
- veriCAR: Used car inspection and certification
- Zopte: One-click website deploy solution
