IDG which owns the international technology ad network called IDG TechNetwork is bringing the same to India. IDG’s objective is to tap the growing tech blogger scene in India and provide them with an alternative to google adsense. Also there are a dozen other networks like Networkplay.in, Ozone Media (Funded by IDG Ventures), Tyroo, Komli, Tonictag and many more which IDG would be competing with.
Afaqs has reported that the ad network would be taking blogs with atleadt 40,000 uniques or more a month. Now if you ask me there wont be more than a couple of dozen tech blogs in India with those kind of unique visitor statistics.
India is the first market in Asia (they have been active in US and UK markets) where IDG has started offering its ad network and if things go well then they may look at expanding to china as well.
In the US IDG has premium blogs like GigaOm (Om Malik’s WATShow here) as a part of their network. It remains to be seen as to how they attract the Indian bloggers to join their network. They have the advantage of running multiple tech sites themselves and hence an access to several premium advertisers. Given the small number of tech related blogs I feel the Indian market wont in anyway match the US numbers of $12 million revenue which IDG made from its US and UK markets in 2008. But as these are early days in India tech blogging scene IDG has made the right move in establishing its foothold in this market as the future would create large scalable media companies like Techcrunch and Gigaom in the west.

I think its a lot to do with the learnings they been getting from the current tech sites and blogs they serve in the use – the Indian page views must be greater than any other country, hence their move here.
Indian IP visits rank in the top 5 PV for most sites globally, social media, tech, news etc.
i think they are looking at monetizing the Indian IP inventory of their network not Indian blogs with Indian visitors. I guess know tech blog’s specifically have no nation specific traffic.
So it does not matter if the tech blogs are from India or from anywhere else.
