
BSNL is continuously adding new services in its kitty. It launched IPTV services named MyWay couple of months back and then it introduced BSNL 3G. Now BSNL has launched various broadband related voice and video services like Video telephony, Video Surveillance and mobile advertising in Gujarat for the first time in India.
Using these services people can go for Video telephony that enables person not only to talk but also see the image of person to whom they are talking. Users can also use Video surveillance whereby they can monitor various locations sitting at one place.
Video Surveillance is generally used in shops, factories etc to monitor work area. Companies having spread over many areas have to pay a huge amount for such surveillance system. BSNL has rightly targeted Gujarat to launch these services, as Gujarat is the heart of Gem and Diamond Industry for decades and Gem industry is one of the Industries that need lot of monitoring and surveillance. Also using BSNL video telephony the product can be showcased to customers at distant locations, thus bridging the gap between the consumers and producers.
BSNL is  targeting to add 30 million broadband customers by the end of financial year 2009. It is already having more than 47 million customers and adding 3o million will help it increase its share in broadband customers pie from 57% to around 70%.
To provide the services BSNL has tied with Sai Infosystems, Ahmedabad for video telephony and RiVACOM Pvt. Ltd, Delhi for video surveillance. BSNL will be providing the back haul for the IP communication i.e. providing the broadband for connectivity while the two vendors will be providing the software solutions and equipments for the services.

BSNL will also be offering  Mobile Advertising service using which a BSNL mobile customer can get the advertisements on his mobile based on the profile that the user has registered with BSNL. Users can register to get adds based on their preferences, for eg if someone is thinking of purchasing an insurance service he can mark it as his preference and get the desired adds. User’s can also set the convienent time to receive the adds and most importantly they also get paid to watch these adds. This service is provided with the help of M/s UTPL.
It seems that BSNL has come up with a better marketing strategy this time and has targeted a potential market making BSNL a forerunner in providing these services to the user.
