IMI Launches Mobile Music Exchange

In another story Indian Music Industry launched Music Mobile Exchange in an attempt to curb piracy, MMX will be the world licensing arm for the music content produced by the group of Labels which include Saregama, Aditya Music, Tips, Venus, EMi, Sony and Universal.

Reportedly the licence can be obtained for a period of 1-3 years at costs ranging between Rs 1,500 to 5,000 per month/per computer depending on the kind of shop and its location. IMI secretary general Savio D’Souza said, “Mobile phones and chips are growing at a phenomenal pace and India should have the largest base of mobile phone users in the next few years. Each of these users requires music on their phones. The shopkeepers are currently offering these services illegally and making million of rupees.” as quoted on Indian Television.

T20 on RCom mobiles

ICC T20 will take the country by storm (if the IPL success is anything to go by) and you might be watching it live on your Reliance mobiles as reportedly Reliance Mobile had signed a $103 million deal with the ICC for events upto 2015 which include 19 major events such as the World Cup for seniors, juniors and women, the Champions Trophy and other inter-continental event. The revenue sharing deal is expected to boost Rcom revenues by 15-20 percent.
