Vodafone ZooZoos – The Online Buzz – Untapped Opportunities

If you haven’t come across ZooZoo even once either you are an alien or locked in a room with no access  to  facebook, twitter, print media or television media.  ZooZoo’s are part of Vodafone latest advertisement campaign in which Vodafone started a new concept of a different advertisement everyday during the IPL and got more fans than the IPL itself.

On FaceBook its brand page ZooZoos is very close to having around 70,000 fans in just 15 Days  greater than any other popular themes like IPL , MTV roadies etc. According to Neo@Ogilvy  (digital arm of O&M) who is responsible for managing ZooZoo’s Facebook brand ZooZoo fanpage has received around 2.6 million page views in comparison to only 0.5 million of IPLT20.com.

Others Copying Zoozoo

Infact fans have seen an immense opportunity in zoozoos and they have launched their own fanpage (which seems to be even more popular – Over 75k members) and even website in zoozooz.co.cc. They also have a youtube channel where they seem to be uploading all zoozoo videos.

Vodafone Pushing Zoozoo VAS Products

Vodafone also seems to be cashing in on the zoozoo craze by putting mobile downloads like themes, wallpapers etc on vodafone live priced at 10, 15 and 50 rupees.

Extending the Zoozoo craze online

Vodafones agency ogilvy is extending the zoozoo craze online by posting the making of ZooZoo advertisement . The agency has also provided various wallpapers , down-loadable sound clips and music files of ZooZoo. They are also planning of releasing a  DVD of all 30 advertisements after they are released on TV to the fans who have requested for the  same.

Opportunity For A Zoozoo destination?

Vodafone seems to be standing on an opportunity to create an online destination which it can own. We really feel a social platform for people to create their own zoozoo avatar and build a zoozoo world would be a big hit. And even if they manage to attract half as much as members as they did on facebook it would be great start as they would own the platform unlike their facebook group.
