Bharti Airtel Results: Impressive Growth From All Quarters


Bharti Airtel declared revenues of Rs.36,962 crore for FY2008-09 registering a growth of 37% YoY.

Net Income also shot up to Rs. 8,470 crore a 26% rise from previous year.

The overall subscriber base was 9.66 crore at the end of Mar-2009 and this year also saw the highest ever net addition of 3.24 crore in a year’s time.

The quarterly revenues stood at Rs. 9,825 crore (up 26% Y-o-Y) and Net Income at Rs. 2,239 crore (up 21% Y-o-Y).

Bharti currenlty has 27,26,239 Telemedia subscribers who uses services apart from GSM like voice and broadband services through DSL.Amongst them 39.3% users are brodband subscribers and its Telemedia services is currently available in 95 cities.

The ARPU in GSM business was Rs.357 almost 15% lower than previous year.The AMPU was however stagnant at 507 mins.

Its SMS revenues contributed 4.4% to the topline whereas the contribution of Non voice revenues was 9.4%.

Bharti infratel,Tower management subsidiary owned 27548 towers in 11 circles apart from 35066 towers it shares with Indus towers in 12 circles.

The results are outright Impressive but one factor which could play a spoilsport is the market share of net additions which stands at 18.4% against an overall market share of 24%.This tells us that new entrant players are seriously denting its ability to increase marketshare anytime soon.
