IMImobile really knows how to cash in on the exam season. It has tied up with the National Network of Education (NNE) to deliver board and university examination results to students via a mobile SMS. The service termed ‘mVaayoo’ combines web and mobile technology in an interactive and cost-effective communication platform. The results would be delivered immediately after the SMS is sent using IMImobile’s two-way web-based SMS service.
Ofcourse as far as the results are concerned, the mothership is still NNE’s dedicated portal: www.ExamResults.net, but now candidates will also have the opportunity to learn of their results by sending a SMS with ‘RESULT’ to ‘56263’.
Mr Vishwanath Alluri, Chairman and Founder of IMImobile, said: “‘mVaayoo’ continues to open new communication channels for enterprises through cost-effective bulk SMS messaging.”
With 34 boards of secondary and higher secondary education (that are recognised by the Indian Government) along with many more university boards, which encompasses lakhs of students, this is a huge deal for IMImobile.
Rediff is another player in this space and it has been releasing various exam results via sms results by tying up with various boards. It may just make sense for sms players like mytoday and smsgupshup to give a thought to the exams sms results market as it will be growing bigger each year. They can also wrap around send an sms greeting for friends who have passed or inform others about your score into the sms app for this particular segment.
