Tie Ups Update: RockeTalk – Indiatimes / Facebook – TataIndicom / Mashreq – Paymate
Mobile tie ups is the flavour of this week with three tie ups coinciding together all about mobile companies tying up with web players either for content, distribution or technology.

RockeTalk ties up with Indiatimes for mobile content
Rocketalk has tied up exclusively with Indiatimes for ad sales & mobile content .This tie-up would enable rocketalk to use Indiatimes content services on its new app which provides support for photos, videos, send text & voice messages, multimedia content download for mobile.
This tie-up would be beneficial to both the parties as rocketalk would be able to garner more content and for Indiatimes it would be an initial step in upcoming 3G services.
The content tie-up would include premium contents like RT, Wall paper, Videos, Full length songs, Games, Packs, and text contents like Jokes, Shaayari, News, Horoscopes, Cricket.
Rocketalk would reap good rewards in long term as Indiatimes has the largest collection of VAS content in India and partnering them would help it to get monetary compensation by selling the content.
As RockeTalk being a platform for social networking on the move, will also increase advertising spectrum of Indiatimes there by also increasing the opportunity of the ads being noticed.

Facebook Goes Mobile In India With Tata Indicom
Facebook too has entered mobile sms arena in partnership with Tata Indicom.
This tie-up would provide Tata indicom subscribers to update their status, search for profiles, message friends, poke, write on friends wall, add friends and write notes by sending an sms to 51555. The smses would be charged at 3rs. per sms. To know more click here.
The absence of low sms charges would create hurdles and this service may not gather much users.
Although this tie-up emphasizes the fact that even big SNS wants to go regional with different tie-ups in place. This tie-up would open the networking space for more such deals as concerned parties wants to leverage their users strength.

Mashreq to launch Mobile Payments and shopping widgets in UAE with PayMate
Mashreq, the largest private bank in the UAE has partnered with PayMate, India’s leading mobile commerce company to launch mobile payments in the UAE. The scope of offerings would include paying for over-the-counter shopping, utility bills, online purchases via the mobile as well as mobile applications enabling purchase of movie and flight tickets. This first-of-its-kind mobile payment service in the UAE would be available for 3.5 million credit card users in the UAE as well as half a million Mashreq Bank account holders.
The new service is easy to use as all SMS based platform works on even the simplest mobile handset across all telecom operators.
This would seriously put paymate as one of the major mobile commerce provider across the globe and would help them to leverage their technology superiority in gaining more traction globally.
