GoaFest09 – Media2Win, JWT, Webchutney and Hungama Take Home Digital Honours at Abby’s 2009

The Goafest 09 concluded a couple of days back with a lot of campaigns getting deserved awards and all agencies throwing around numbers of the metals they bagged. OnM touched 50 and continued to dominate the general advertising business with the second being JWT with 24 medals.

But WATBlog being WATBlog is bothered about digital only, and there were a host of known agencies which took the top spot at the Abby’s.

Media2Win took the Gold for best Viral Marketing campaign for Tata Sky. Media2win won for the viral ‘Adultdost.com: India’s First Adult Dating Website’ a campaign to promote Tata Sky’s DTH service brand online. Of course, needless to say we blogged about it as well when the campaign went live some while back.

JWT won the gold for the the making and promotion of a social initiative by Times of India, Chennai to run or ban Jallikatu. Jallikatu.com which ran an opinion poll on whether to run or ban the brutal Jallikatu festival in Tamil Nadu was adjudged the best website.

Hungama on the other hand won one Silver and one Bronze award. The was award for the ‘Viral and Email Marketing’ and ‘Integrated Digital Campaign’ categories respectively for the campaign created for ‘Ghajini’. The two virals in question are microsites the www.wallofsuspects.com and www.findghajini.com. WAT had featured an analysis earlier of all the initiatives of Ghajini and Hungama to promote the movie online.

WebChutney which was rated the best agency by the Brand Equity last year also won a silver and a bronze, though at the moment I don’t know which campaign took the honour. In all a total of 19 metals were given out in the ‘Interactive Digital Advertising’ category this year.

The Goafest concluded its 4th edition this year, and if the turnout if anything to go by, it has become the definitive agency recognition platform in India. You can read the entire summary of the awards here.

No exciting news anymore. But yet I will keep coming back cause I love you’ll. But guys pls start covering on a regular basis. Cheers…

    Thanks for mentioning the campaigns Shweta, didn’t find it mentioned in the couple of places I looked, thanks anyway and congrats on the awards.

    @Raghu
    Thank you for the love bro.. do keep coming back.. also in my personal opinion and therefore distinct from that of WATBlog, WAT is just a blog and not a newspaper, so while we do break stories and news I don’t see it as an exhaustive pursuit, as a blogger I feel the job is to get a topic on board with a certain opinion, the community should then discuss debate, add delete, etc. to it..

    Having said that, Your point is valid and as a reader even I would have liked to know which were the 20 odd campaigns that took the honours.. perhaps everyone can contribute to this and thereby let everyone know who won as well…

    *Please don’t take my comment as arrogance or anything and like Rajiv said we’ll definitely improve on what we bring here
