In a bid to increase internet penetration in India the government is taking some serious steps in bringing last mile broadband access to the country. This is why it has now launched an initiative which is likely to be rolled out in the next 6 months. This is the bus kiosk 100 Mbps connection which the government plans to launch across top 8 cities in India.
How would this help?
This would provide access to those at bus kiosks and would enable them to not only surf the internet but also download and upload data using a data drive. One can also listen to music at this kiosk.
How does this kiosk look?
The kiosk would have two screens with one for business and the other for entertainment functions. An early graphic screenshot of the kiosk is given below:
How can one use it and what will it cost?
The kiosk can be used by anyone holding the kiosk card. The applications for the kiosk card have already been opened at the Bus kiosk official website and one can apply here.
