Emotional atyachar on your mobile screen!!! From the makers of ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ (CC2C) and Ghajini (the mobile game) comes a new game of the latest upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Dev D’(Sorry for the cliché). Indiagames has created a game for the movie ‘Dev D’ which is slated to release this coming Friday.

Present during the launch were Mahi and kalki (leading actresses of the movie)  who were accompanied by CEO of Indiagames Mr. Vishal Gondal. Vishal Gondal explained, “Bollywood based games have always been great hit with the Indian mobile gamers. This has given producers a tremendous opportunity to extend the experience of the film to a user’s mobile screen.”

Indiagames is primarily a game development co focusing on web and mobile technologies. In the past they have created games for many Hollywood movies like Cat woman, Oceans 12, Godzilla and have also equally contributed in Bollywood movies like Munnabhai MBBS, Lucky, No Entry etc. The games created by Indiagames are sold to audiences at large through the internet as well as mobile operators. The cost of each games is roughly about Rs 50/- and games of popular movies like CC2C and Ghajini can fetch about 1,00,000 – 1,50,000 downloads. The Dev D mobile game is set to be priced at Rs 99.

Vishal also feels that as the movie is youth centric the ‘Dev D’ game would easily appeal to them. Keeping the movies story in mind Indiagames are primarily targeting male audiences between the ages of 20 – 28 by sending SMSes, WAP messages, and ads.

For all the Bollywood fanatics, Dev D is a film based on the DPS MMS scandal which took place in Delhi 2004. The lead actors being Abhay Deol (devdas), Kalki Koechlin plays femme fatale Chanda, Mahi Gill plays Paro. ‘Dev D’ had launched a microsite for the promotion of the movie – DevDthefilm.com

  1. lame Indian movies, followed by lame Indian games

    why does Indiagames suck?

  2. @nighthawk24:
Well keeping the Indian audiences in mind.. the above movies were expected blockbusters and a game acts as a good extension for the movie.. Indiagames can apply movie games as a strategy to get more users on the website and experience their other games.. the publicity and media coverage in turn is beneficial to all. Although i do agree with u that the mobile game play and graphics needs to be worked on more extensively. thanks :)
