One thing I would like to add though is that before such an initiative is take, the startups have to make sure that the students fully understand what working in a startup is like. True one cant really know before experiencing before, but I suppose a presentation on the life in a startup would go a long way. Since the guy recruited will become an integral part of the company esp if its too small

Rizwan, i don' think startups don't reuiqre freshers. its only the fresh hands and heads (and feet) that can add great execution. for a long time, stratups will need to keep adding value by executing. since ideas and planning at the basic level for a short and mid term is in place, already.
since the org. is small and flat, the older guys can just assimilate the learnings from the "executives" and hit the drawing board n times a week to re-assess, tweak the direction

I think this is an excellent idea, but I have just one doubt....how many startups would require freshers? I have always believed tht startups should look for day one employees who can come and start adding value, unless the startup has grown substantially and can spare three months per employee to train them and get them up and running......food for thought :). Nevertheless, I think this is an excellent initiative and I will be glad to see startup benefiting from this.
