A Look At Traffic Measurement Tools & How They Measure Up Against Each Other

So Komli today morning announced the launch of their free traffic measurement tool vizisense soon after they tied up with Vizu an ad measurement company based out of the US. Of recently, traffic measurement has come into focus with multiple free tools being available in the market for anyone to measure the traffic of a particular site.
This post attempts at bringing all the traffic measurement tools and measuring them against each other. Have a look at the chart below for more.
On the whole if you ask me Google is very well poised to take over this market purely because of the depth of data which is at its disposal given its reach via search, analytics and adwords. But local focussed players can’t be ruled out and just like quantcast and compete.com have seen good traction in the US as traffic measurement tools Im sure similar tools in Indian market also have a future.
As one can see the recently launched vizisense is following the compete and quantcast model. This works very well with komli’s other business i.e. ad network. As more and more people come online and brand and ROI advertisers move to the web they will demand sophisticated media measurement and planning tools. Komli sees this as a big opportunity to engage in delivery of not only ads but also helping with the decision making on where to advertise via tools like vizisense. I wont be surprised if they soon add an ad planner product to vizisense.

Dude.. Alexa is the most ancient tool.. everyone knows it sucks!
Very interesting area that has been picked up. With the consumers being so net savvy today, being able to look at traffic, analyse and course correct is more important than ever before. In my opinion it is even more critical for companies than tracking the PR strategy or the Media / Advert campaigns. And using the best tool on the basis of the comparative analysis done will help a lot of companies.
