Reliance ADAG Enters Online Retail With RelianceMoneyMall.com

Reliance Money which is part of the Reliance ADA Group, has launched a new e-commerce Web portal  for a range of financial as well as non financial products. Called reliancemoneymall.com, the ecommerce portal will sell insurance, mutual funds and bullion and non-financial products such as apparel, accessories, books/ magazines, music CDs and DVDs, home appliances, gifts, flowers etc.

The portal is setup in partnership with Microsoft which seems to be using the portal to promote the download of silverlight software. Infact a rich media version of the site entirely built in silverlight is also available. It seems that Microsoft built this portal free of cost for Reliance for some branding.

Reliance money has stated that it expects to generate 10-15 per cent of its total revenues from online advertising, said Mr Sudip Bandyopadhyay the CEO of Reliance Money.

Just recently Reliance Money had tied up with Apnaloan for content. It seems Reliance money is pretty upbeat on the digital medium though given the times that we are it seems like an unlikely time that anyone will buy financial products let alone online.
