I think social shopping is way way in the future for indian internet users. We did think of treading in that direction while we were building our product, but on a deeper survey of existing social network and the behavior of online shoppers, thought of it as nonviable feature in the current scenario.

I think what the e-commerce or the online retail industry needs to do right now is build a good delivery network, and create trust among consumers. Have a buy back option, or source products from the neighborhood retail store with a local bill of purchase. It might eat up your margins, but you're creating trust in the consumer that is worth every cent you loose in the long term.
