WATGame.com reveals that Anil Ambani’s RCom may soon own the New Castle football team from the fabled English Premiere League! Yes, ADAG just might buy out New Castle United.

My colleague, Darks3id, points out that this is a huge step in ADAG’s plans of going global the BIG way! However, looking at all the hoopla, although the buyout shall churn up a huge agitation among the big-wigs of the Indian economy, Reliance just might need to tread the waters a little cautiously. We all know that the football team hasn’t won any tourneys in almost a decade. However, the very fact that the rumors are around prove that the India conglomerates have started to dream and dare big.

On top of it, since Reliance’s brands like WebWorld and Zapak are already into gaming, I can spot huge potentials in terms of merchandising, advertising and branding. Who knows? We just might even manage to rope in Michael Owen to play for the local Indian clubs! The day just might not be too far when you could spot our very own “Sehwag ki Maa” brand logo, Reliance Infocom, stitched onto the New Castle’s stars’ jerseys!

  1. You say that “Reliance just might need to tread the waters a little cautiously. We all know that the football team hasn’t won any tourneys in almost a decade.”. But nor has Force India, they have not even earned a single point this season, nor have their team drivers, and they don’t look like they will for a long time! Newcastle still has a good strong fan following, and is (i suppose) one of the better teams in the premiership.

  2. Hey mate…
