Ticketvala.com introduces mTicket - Will IRCTC Follow?
I remember once being fined Rs 120 by a ticket collector just because I was too careless to sleep off with the ticket in my hand. Please tell me this happened to you too ‘coz I’m desperately in need for some company, here
Okay, on a serious note, here comes the opportunity of finally going paperless, as far as bus tickets are concerned. Thanks to Ticketvala.com, all you need to do is pay for it online and get the ticket delivered straight to your mobile. For more details on the process, you can check out this post by Mobiletor.
What gets me intrigued is how closer we are moving towards a paperless society that I had talked about, yesterday, on my post regarding RBI taking up mBanking. Although the service looks very promising, here’s a glitch that I shall love Ticketvala to solve, and fast! Ticketvala says you canpay for the ticket either online or by cash, at your doorstep. My concern is, what if I suddenly wish to travel from point A to B in a bus but do not use GPRS? I think, Ticketvala should come up with an option to book tickets either by a VAS enabled system or by texting.
Moreover, I shall expect IRCTC to take a leaf out of Ticketvala’s pages and use the same system for its ticketing services. Rather than asking travellers to produce a printed e-ticket, just a mTicket and authorized ID proof should do. Already, Railways has the option of issuing you an extra ticket at a charge of Rs 50 if you possess just the ID proof and not the print out. Unless they wish to earn a little extra buck, I think this idea of mTicket will surely kick off in a big way! If only we got the idea during Proto. We would have surely suggested Sanjay Agarwal about it.

To find more trains and ticket availability visit http://www.indiantrains.org/
I have not seen such a good site which has so many features in a single page. The better way to search Indian trains looks great and it open fast, no pop-up, user friendly. Every information in a single page. This concept is good and some of the features like calendar, train running day has not come in a single website in this reviews. the most important features i have seen in this site that if the user does not know the station code then also he can see all the trains and it is only website which have a drop menu box for the important station from where you can choose the station name and also it has a date calendar from you can choose the date and it show the running day of the train so that you can know which day of the week this train is running. the other most important feature I have seen in this website that it show the train which does not have the reservation coach for the benefit of the user and they are showing the passenger train also which is also not available in any website. This site will enable the users to search train route and compare fares of most of the trains in India.
Pros: all the features which user need, open fast, user friendly, good look and interactive, update data regularly, new features

However, “search multiple stations in a city with a single search”, is not a unique feature http://erail.in/ has been offering this feature for a while. We tested the site http://www.indiantrains.org/ and it worked reasonably well.
