Network 18 (Viacom 18) Launches Website For Its Hindi Channel - Colors

Being a big TV junkie that I am, it’s natural that I am waiting for the launch of Network 18’s Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC) Colors. That I am also a big fan of Akshay Kumar, who is doing a show on the channel, only adds spice to the matter. Plus, Network 18’s growth has been phenomenal. After having a CNBC TV18, CNN-IBN, MTV (Yess, Network 18 owns it). I am sure their channel will be a force to reckon with.
Just received this news in the morning that Network 18 has launched a website around its upcoming channel colors. The website, http://colorstv.in, reflects the theme of the logo of the channel and some of the futures shows. So, you can download pictures and wallpapers based on the shows and check out the schedule of different shows. There is also a Mobile section. However, the site seems to be under development yet, as the Mobile section has a “Coming Soon” tag.
Network 18 has successfully managed Internet properties. Tech2 is their premier technology website, which, I must add, is very well done. Later, they launched Buzz188.com, Josh18.com, Moneycontrol.com cricketnext.com, bookmyshow.com and Yatra.com. Let’s see the website ends up being just a collection of wallpapers or are they able to leverage it better, just like they did with other properties.

The testing of the channel has started too…so if you tune it in you can catch it
Viacom18 is a 50-50 joint venture between Viacom Inc. and Network18 Group. So to say Network 18 owns the channel or any other is wrong. It partly controls it yes.
