When the Chairman of Sebi (Securities and Exchange Board of India) Mr.C B Bhave is the guest to launch a website then one needs to take such a website seriously. The websites is called Takeovercode.com and much like its name its a portal for providing end to end information on Mergers and Acquisitions in India. The website is owned by Corporate legal and financial advisory firm Corporate Professionals.

The two professional services which have very little online content are services by Chartered Accountants and Lawyers in India. Both Indian accounting and taxation regulations as well as legal laws are complex for a layman or even a new business man looking to start his or her own firm. Im sure most startups dread hiring a bad CA or a Lawyer if and when they need one.

This move by Corporate professionals indicates the need for a web destination that solves people queries. It also signifies a different approach to corporate branding on the web. Instead of putting up the same content on their corporate site they have chosen to launch a neutral platform for information exchange and discussion. Its been sometime that I have been trying to coax my CA into launching a blog of his own with information on taxation, funding et al but to no avail as yet!

The other professional vertical which needs this kind of online initiative is Medical vertical where there is again a lot of advisory role that can be performed through a portal like this. But as medical can have contrary results that are dangerous to life the same needs to be done with big disclaimers on the website.
