Sitting in the movie theatre and watching “Aamir”, I was surprised to see the SMSgupshup group notification for that particular movie theatre on screen, during the interval. The group offered movie listings. The group was not for the entire chain of the movie theatres but just for that particular theatre. The theatre has been using SMSGupshup service quite effectively. I can say that because just a few hours back, I had been searching about show timings of the movie.

SMSGupshup took steps to counter spamming, in its earlier avatar. And one of the step included not allowing a user to form more than one SMS group. A good decision, ‘coz SMS are quite intrusive and SMS spamming is the ultimate tool for pissing someone off. Anyways, they seem to have done away with the 1-group limit.
