Well they say if you can’t beat them then join them! CareerbuilderIndia seems to be taking that approach in India where it is possibly the latest big player entrant in the cluttered job site market where every one from startups to big media houses have their own job sites. So given the situation the path that CareerBuilderIndia seems to be taking is the one where tieups with large portals and online properties which have good traction seems to be the strategy. So they have gone ahead and tied up with sulekha.com to power the jobs section at Sulekha.

Speaking on this partnership with CareerBuilder-India, Mr. Satya Prabhakar, CEO of Sulekha.com said, “We are glad to be partnering with CareerBuilder in India which is a leading player in the global online jobs market. In keeping with our motto of providing rich online classifieds content, we believe this co-branded site will give Sulekha.com users an opportunity to access premium jobs across multiple sectors. Thus, if you are looking for a new job, a new career, a new city or a new direction Sulekha.com will prove as a destination site to let you explore the possibilities and find the opportunities that are right for you.”

“We are very excited to build our network in India and have Sulekha.com be part of this growth. This partnership will provide Sulekha.com visitors with highly relevant career advice and a powerful job search engine that will help them be more successful in their employment endeavors,” said Arti Pullins, Managing Director of CareerBuilder-India. “Employers will gain access to a highly engaged, diverse pool of candidates and will benefit from the visibility of this well-respected media channel.”

Sulekha has raised over 10 M $ and has been oscillating between being a social networking portal to a blogging platform to an NRI portal to im not sure what?? To me it looks like any other horizontal portal. And this tie up with Careerbuilder is to monetize its traction (thats assuming its a monetary deal.. Though we have no details!). After all every portal needs to make money! Can’t survive on only funding can we?
