After Mr. Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Ram Gopal Varma, the latest to join the blogosphere from the Bollywood world is ace producer-director Karan Johar. According to reports, Karan Johar’s first blog entry will be up on Thursday, that is today, on ‘www.mynameiskaran.com’. The URL, when entered in the browser, lands nowhere. If it really is the web address of Karan Johar, I expected him to at least put a landing page here informing the people that his blog is coming shortly.
I checked out Dharma Productions’ website out of curiosity (Karan Johar’s production house) and was pleased to see a well designed website. Good use of flash. However, on slower connections, it might take some time to load. On the home page, a box says “My Name is Karan - Coming Soon”, as can be seen in the screenshot.
More and more Bollywood celebrities blogging points to the fact that the entertainment industry is now seeing some value in maintaining an online reputation, too. Aamir Khan has successfully used his blog to discuss his ideas and, at times, promote his films. Karan Johar, as I know him, is a thorough commercial director. I don’t know if his will be a blog as direct and personal as Aamir Khan’s, but it is sure to gain a lot of footage online.

i will never read kj ’s blog
Karan Johar might be a commercial director… but his commercial films exploit a lot oh human emotions. As he normally puts it, the canvas on which he portrays his story is vast and extravagant but emotions are just the same. Anyways, what is really going to be interesting is, how many contraversies does he land into… he is very candid about gossip…and Koffee with Karan was a huge example. I am waiting to read his witty views on the various other celebs’ blogs and write ups…!!!
UPDATE: Immidiately writing the comment I navigated to the given url…and his blog is up… and his first few lines suggest that its gonna be a great read…

Yes, I agree. The kind of films that he makes may be typical Bollywood-style,but at some level they DO connect with the audience. What else can be the reason for the super success of his films. But he needs to evolve, too. Ha has accepted his failure of KANK in his blog. But the guy is intelligent and witty, for sure.Let’s hope for some good work from him.

…the more i read kj’s blog the more impatient i become to read the NEXT…read kar ke kutch kutch hota hai,kabhie khushi kabhie gum isliye leekhne se kabhie alvida na khena pir kal ho na ho……
