This is a guest post by one of our interns, Chinmay Sane, from BITS Pilani.

Contests2win.com announced, last week, the first ever Euro ‘08 Creation Campaign for Adidas. Football crazy fans can create Euro ‘08 related contests and they are being rewarded for their creativity and distinctiveness. There are quizzes, twisters, hangmans, crosswords, polls, etc.

These contests are designed to test the football gyan of users but honestly, they are a set of dumb questions. For people who have only recently started following football, these might prove to be challenging but for the fanatics of the game, these are like nursery rhymes. But because it has a relatively low difficulty level, these contests are getting a very healthy responses from people. Users are creating contests at damn fast rate, in fact, in less than a week, users have already created more than 150 contests! Euro contests have clocked a record 50,000 plays on the site, which is purely out of curiosity of the fans. Almost every football follower would surely try them out at least once, but only a few would visit to these contests again.

However, C2W and Adidas are rewarding users who create contests that generate the maximum number of plays, which would make sure we get better contests on Euro ‘08 (hopefully). The interactive part about it is that you can share your creation with your friends or you can embed them on your personal blog or even post it on social networking websites like Facebook or MySpace, in accordance with Web 2.0.

It’s Euro and football’s on everyone’s mind. C2W is cashing in on the popularity of the game, in turn improving their popularity as well. It also provides a great platform for users to interact with the tournament beyond only viewing matches. Everyone likes to display their football gyan, but if Euro’s official website and even SkySports.com is providing a football fanatic with one of the most challenging questions, would someone visit C2W?

As Ekalavya Bhattacharya, Brand Manager, Contests2Win very proudly said, “C2W has always been topical and trend centric.”
