Leading publisher of digital books, DailyLit, has come up with an interesting and a very innovative way of getting the tech geeks hooked onto books. Till date, DailyLit has been making books available to the readers on a pay-per-read basis where the readers could get snippets of their favorite books emailed or as a RSS feed at a pre-scheduled time. Such an arrangement sounds really cool since the reader gets the opportunity to decide, every day, whether or not to demand for the rest of the story. Moreover, at times, one might find a story title interesting but might regret the decision after buying the whole book. A reader also feels confident about trying new and untouched genres because he’ll know he won’t have to shell out a bomb just in case he didn’t like it. Such a marketing strategy also helps draw readers into new genres and authors.

Now, the big news! DailyLit has decided to go all the way and create reading groups on Twitter where they plan to tweet lines out of a story book, continuously. That way, if you have gotten yourself subscribed to their updates using your mobile phone, it doesn’t matter where you are and how retarded a mobile you might use, you can always read your favorite stories and fight off boredom :-)

As of now, DailyLit has decided to release only 3 titles for free - “Down & Out in the Magic Kingdom“, “100 Ways to Succeed / Make Money” & “Pride & Prejudice“. Unfortunately, when I searched for the reading group on Twitter, I could find only one DailyLit id that still hasn’t been updated and with only 17 followers, at the time I write this article. This one might / might not be the official DailyLit Twitter id. If you get to know the same, do let us know.
