Mozilla FireFox 3 Release Date Anounced - Rediff Launches Toolbar For Firefox 3.0

12 months after Mozilla coming up with Firefox 2 and after 3 release candidates and 5 beta versions, the official and stable version of FireFox 3 is finally set for rollout, scheduled on June 17, 2008. There have been a lot of speculations in the blogosphere regarding the 4th release candidate of Mozilla Firefox but it seems Mozilla has finally managed to release the final version of Firefox 3.
Mozilla has always maintained that they would launch the final version of Firefox 3 when they are ready. They also say, “The Mozilla product cycle is actually quite a bit different from those of most software producers.”
The latest offering from Mozilla has come up with huge amount of improvements in performance stability and security. Moreover, they have also redesigned the look and feel of Firefox by a lot of extent.

The Awesome Bar : An article on Firefox 3 can never be written without mentioning the Awesome Bar. One no more needs to remember the url of pages or even bookmark them. All you need to do is remember a few words related to a website, type it on the address bar and lo! The web address should be right there, waiting for you to be visited.

Bookmarking & Tagging : Firefox has come up with a new terminology called “Places”. This is an innovative infrastructure put in place for bookmarking web sites. Places allow users to bookmark pages, mention tags and even annotate them.

New Add-ons Manager : The Firefox add-ons menu is more robust and intuitive. Moreover, Mozilla has also integrated the extensions and themes managers and have also come up with a search box on the addons manager.
Improved Download Manager : Now, no need to delete a single download history and you can easily search through them and figure out where they came from, where they went in.
Native Look : Firefox can now camouflage into the native OS’s look more easily than any other version before.

Smart “Remember Password” Bar : Your site shall never again pause loading until you decide whether or not to remember the password you just entered.
Rushabh Adds : Few days back we had blogged that Firefox is set to break the world record and now their chances looks much brighter to me. Firefox now has total number of 1,001,258 pledges from people all over the world.

As evident from the above Firefox party map, people all over the world are pretty much excited and seems to be in party mood. Various FF3 parties are being held all over the world. What surprises to me is that no one is partying in Australia and many parts of Africa. I wonder why!
Besides FF3 release we had also blogged about Firefox mobile version. Here is a sneak peek of Firefox Mobile concept.
Shāyon adds again : While I was composing this post, Rediff released their first ever toolbar for FireFox 3. The new Rediff Toolbar allows users to search the web and enjoy access to popular vertical searches like Fare Search, Job Search, Product Search, Image search, video search, ringtone search and language search helping them to get the most of their searches.

If you can’t do real journalism, then why write at all. Opera 9.5 was released today, and all I see is a post about Firefox going to release something. If you are covering browsers, cover them correctly and with respect please.

Hey,
Let’s not be racists against browsers
It just so happens that most of our readers use either IE or FF and most importantly, we are too ignorant on the features of Opera. Would you like to send us a guest post illustrating all the new features of Opera and probably even a great comparison between Opera 9.5 and Mozilla Firefox 9.5?
Zdnet is running a lil poll on which browser the users would prefer sticking to or moving on to. Interestingly, 69% of the users are planning to switch over to FF3! Check it out for yourself at - http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=2060&tag=nl.e539
Opera’s history search is much better than the ‘awesome bar’ as it searches the whole content of the previous pages, not just the titles. Plus Opera is fast, much faster than current versions of firefox.
Also, Opera 9.5 has a new skin which makes it much better looking than before. You mentioned FF mobile version (which hasnt even been made yet, its just in concept stages) but have not mentioned about Opera Mini which has more than 40 million downloads on mobile phones…
Also, if you are not familiar with features of Opera, why not visit their website and find out? All new features are explained cleary over there….
Hey i did read about Opera Mini on WAT itself.. And it indeed is a good product.
